Located on the old coast, the town has been inhabited for centuries. A few kilometres from the town, a calcareous islet from the gulf of Machecoul preserves the ruins of L'Ile Chauvet abbey built around 1130 AD. Bois De Cene's marshes have no equivalent anywhere in Brittany.
You can discover it yourself by foot, by bicycle, by riding or using canoe. It is a place of predilection for nature enthusiasts as it offers tranquillity, the pleasure of the countryside as well as observation and discovery of abundant fauna and flora.
